I’ve been going through my lab and changing generic passwords to much stronger, randomly generated passwords for each service. One service posed a problem: VUM. I updated the ODBC Data Source but vCenter still reported database issues.
Thankfully, the utility to update credentials is installed with VUM by default.
You can find it at the following path
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager\VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe
Login with vCenter Credentials
Select Database Settings on the left and enter the new database credentials.
